von Wir – Boban, Carmen, Nina und Pia – reisen nun wieder getrennt. Nachdem gestern das Abschlussessen der Exkursion stattfand, genossen wir heute nochmals das Frühstück in unserem gemeinsamen Hotel. Nina und Pia flogen heute von Chiang Mai nach Bangkok und von dort aus über Doha (Katar) nach Mailand. Während Nina wieder zurück nach Hause fährt, bleibt Pia noch für eine Weile in Norditalien. Carmen flog heute nach Koh Samui und macht dort für 12 Tage einen Familienurlaub, wo Erholung am Strand und die Erkundung der Insel wartet. Für Boban ging es auch mit dem Flieger zurück nach Bangkok, wobei er in ein paar Tagen weitere Inseln Thailands erkundet und später nach Vietnam weiterreist.
Unsere gemeinsame Exkursion war von Ungleichheiten geprägt. Wir sahen viel, das uns noch sehr lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird – vom Slum in Bangkok, zu Partystimmung in Pattaya, hin zu Tempeln in Chiang Mai. Einerseits haben wir menschlich und kulturell viel neues erfahren, wie beispielsweise neue Gerichte, Menschen und Lebensweisen. Andererseits konnten wir auch fachlich sehr viel mitnehmen. Wir sind schon sehr gespannt auf unsere Abschlussarbeit, in der wir theoretische Konzepte mit den von uns selbst gesammelten Erfahrungen verknüpfen können. Und bei einem sind wir uns einig: Wir werden Thailand in guter Erinnerung behalten.
We – Boban, Carmen, Nina and Pia – are now traveling separately again. After the final dinner of the excursion yesterday, we enjoyed breakfast again today in our shared hotel. Nina and Pia flew today from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and from there via Doha (Qatar) to Milan. While Nina is heading back home, Pia is staying in northern Italy for a while. Carmen flew to Koh Samui today for a 12-day family vacation where she can relax on the beach and explore the island. Boban also flew back to Bangkok for a few days, later he will explore other Thai islands and later travel on to Vietnam.
Our joint excursion was characterized by inequalities. We saw a lot that we will remember for a very long time – from the slums in Bangkok to the party atmosphere in Pattaya and the temples in Chiang Mai. On the one hand, we experienced a lot of new things on a personal and cultural level, such as new dishes, people and ways of life. On the other hand, we were also able to learn a lot from a academic point of view. We are already very excited about our final thesis, in which we can combine theoretical concepts with our own experiences. And we all agree on one thing: We will have fond memories of Thailand
