Ein Gedicht von ‘Klabund’ (Alfred Georg Hermann Henschkes, 1890 – 1928)

Wende ich den Kopf nach oben:
Wie die weissen Flocken fliegen,
Fühle ich mich selbst gehoben
Und im Wirbeltanze wiegen.
Dicht und dichter das Gewimmel;
Eine Flocke bin auch ich.
Wieviel Flocken braucht der Himmel,
Eh die Erde langsam sich
Weiss umhüllt.
Turning my head upwards:
As the white flakes flutter,
I feel myself uplifted, elated
Cradled in the swirling dance.
Ever thicker the flurrying;
I, too, am a flake.
How many flakes does heaven need,
Afore the earth is slowly
Swathed in a white shroud.

‘Klabund’ was a vagabond, a poet who died of tuberculosis. So was the Welsh poet W.H. Davies (1871 – 1940), a tramp, a drifter:

“What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?”

On a snow-shoe walk up towards Ranggen, Sandra and I stood and stared at a tree brought down, across the path, by the weight of snow. We wrote this poem as a result:

“Snow slipping softly
Off bowed branches
Old men bending slowly upwards.”

Ein Gedanke zu “Interview mit Omar Haji und Kulestan und das Gedicht Schneeflocken
